  2. Meta's New Robot can feel Human Touch

  3. Linkedin Introduces it's AI Hiring Assistant

  4. Google’s AI-powered weather app is rolling out to older Pixels

OpenAI just launched ChatGPT Search, a new feature which is more of a smarter search tool integrated into ChatGPT. This means if you ask about sports scores, news updates, stock prices, or even what's happening over the weekend, ChatGPT can now give you recent info directly from the web. You can choose when to search online or let ChatGPT handle it automatically. Also, each answer comes with links to original sources, so you can make more research if you want. Right now, this feature is rolling out to ChatGPT Plus and Team users, with more people getting access soon. There’s even a browser extension if you want to make it your go-to search engine on Chrome. Some publishers are a bit concerned this might reduce traffic to their sites, but OpenAI says it’s working closely with them to keep things fair. They are planning more updates to improve searches for things like travel and shopping. What are your thought on this?

Meta’s taking a huge step into the world of AI touch tech by teaming up with GelSight and South Korea’s Wonik Robotics. They are working on high-tech tactile sensors, but don’t expect to see these in stores—they are for researchers exploring how AI can “feel” the physical world better. One of their new gadgets, called Digit 360, is set to launch next year and can pick up things like heat, texture, and even tiny vibrations. Meta’s also helping Wonik create a new version of their robotic Allegro Hand, which will be fitted with these advanced sensors. The aim is to give AI systems a more human-like sense of touch so they can interpret and interact with their surroundings in a whole new way. Researchers can even apply to get early access, as Meta gears up to make AI smarter about the physical world.

LinkedIn is introducing something new for HRs called Hiring Assistant, and it’s here to tackle all those repetitive, time-consuming hiring tasks. Imagine an AI that can take your notes and turn them into polished job descriptions, find candidates who match, and even start initial conversations with them—all while you focus on the more impactful parts of your job. Right now, companies like AMD and Canva are trying it out, but LinkedIn plans to make it widely available soon. Hiring Assistant lets you upload job descriptions or pick examples you like, then it creates a list of potential candidates based on skills rather than just location or school background. It will also soon be able to handle interview scheduling and answer candidate questions. This development is part of LinkedIn’s broader push to make hiring smoother for recruiters.

Google just launched a new standalone weather app with the Pixel 9, bringing a handy way to check outdoor conditions—using AI. If you are using a Pixel 6, 7, or 8 series phone, keep an eye out for it in the Play Store as it’s gradually being released to these older models too. This new Google Weather app automatically pulls in your saved locations, letting you track weather across multiple spots, arrange the data blocks as you like, and even check an AI-generated summary to help you decide if it’s an umbrella day or not. The app aims to fill the gap left by Dark Sky after Apple acquired it, so it’s an option for anyone still searching for a favorite weather app. Currently, it has mixed reviews (2.3 stars), with some users noting it only allows saved locations, but it’s definitely worth a try if you are looking for a weather update on Pixel!
