Tip of the Day

The Future of Shopping? AI + Actual Humans.

AI has changed how consumers shop by speeding up research. But one thing hasn’t changed: shoppers still trust people more than AI.

Levanta’s new Affiliate 3.0 Consumer Report reveals a major shift in how shoppers blend AI tools with human influence. Consumers use AI to explore options, but when it comes time to buy, they still turn to creators, communities, and real experiences to validate their decisions.

The data shows:

  • Only 10% of shoppers buy through AI-recommended links

  • 87% discover products through creators, blogs, or communities they trust

  • Human sources like reviews and creators rank higher in trust than AI recommendations

The most effective brands are combining AI discovery with authentic human influence to drive measurable conversions.

Affiliate marketing isn’t being replaced by AI, it’s being amplified by it.

The new ChatGPT Images is here

OpenAI just gave ChatGPT's image generator a serious upgrade, and it's coming at a pretty interesting time in the AI wars. The company rolled out GPT Image 1.5 on Tuesday, promising images that generate up to four times faster and follow your instructions way more accurately than before.

The big deal here isn't just speed, though that's definitely nice. It's about precision. The model now changes only what you ask for while keeping elements like lighting, composition, and people's appearance intact. Anyone who's tried editing AI-generated images knows how frustrating it is when you ask for one small change, and the whole thing gets reinterpreted. You wanted to adjust someone's shirt color, and suddenly, their entire face looks different.

With this update, ChatGPT can now handle all sorts of edits like adding objects, removing things, blending multiple images, and applying different styles, all while keeping the important details consistent. OpenAI is positioning this as turning ChatGPT into a creative studio you can carry around in your pocket.

There's also a new dedicated Images section in ChatGPT's sidebar, which makes the whole experience feel more like an actual design tool rather than just chatting with a bot that happens to make pictures. It comes with preset styles and trending prompts to help you get started, kind of like having creative templates ready to go.

The timing of this launch is worth noting. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman reportedly sent out a "code red" memo last month about needing to improve ChatGPT's overall experience, as Google has been gaining ground with its Gemini model and Nano Banana Pro image generator, both of which have been topping industry benchmarks. This image update was apparently supposed to be released in early January but was pushed up in response to the competition heating up.

The new model is rolling out to all ChatGPT users starting today, and it's also available through OpenAI's API as GPT Image 1.5, with developers getting a 20% price cut compared to the previous version.
