OpenAI just introduced a new AI model called "GPT-4o mini." It's basically a smaller, more efficient version of their powerful GPT-4o model. This new AI is designed to do more than just handle text— it will eventually include features for images, videos, and even audio. OpenAI is known for pushing the boundaries in AI tech. Their GPT-4o model, launched earlier, can already handle multiple languages and different types of media like text, audio, and video with ease. They have been valued at a whopping $80 billion and have Microsoft backing them up. This move towards what they call "multimodality" is all about making AI more like how we humans experience the world—seeing, hearing, and speaking. The GPT-4o mini will first be available to users of ChatGPT, their popular tool, and then to enterprise users soon after.
Microsoft recently rolled out their AI-powered Designer app for iOS and Android, officially launching it after the preview phase. Think of it like Canva—you can use text prompts to create stickers, greeting cards, invitations, and more, in over 80 languages. It's also available as a free mobile app and on Windows. What's more fascinating is that they have added "prompt templates" to get your creative juices flowing. These templates come with styles and descriptions you can tweak and share with others. Plus, you can create emojis, clip art, and even change backgrounds using text prompts soon. They are not stopping there—Microsoft plans to integrate Designer with apps like Word and PowerPoint through Copilot, making design creation part of your everyday workflow. Also, if you are on Windows 11, Microsoft Photos now lets you edit photos seamlessly using AI, like erasing objects and auto-cropping, right within the app.

Tinder is introducing a new Photo Selector feature that makes picking your profile picutres easy. How it works is that you snap a selfie or upload a photo, and Tinder's AI matches it with the best options from your phone's gallery. It's all about finding pictures with good lighting and composition to boost your chances of making connections. This new tool builds on Tinder's Smart Photos, which already helps show off your best pics to more people. It's rolling out in the US first, then globally soon after. Tinder says lots of users have been asking for something like this—68% find it helpful because choosing profile pics can be tricky. They are also big on privacy—they say the feature runs entirely on your phone and doesn't store any data elsewhere. So, you are in control. It's all about making the dating game easier so you can focus on meeting new people.
Spotify introduced its AI-powered “DJ” feature to Spanish-speaking users worldwide. This feature, which launched in beta last year, uses AI to create personalized playlists and offers commentary on songs and artists. Now, Olivia “Livi” Quiroz Roa will be the voice of the new Spanish-speaking DJ. Spotify says Livi isn’t just a voice but a music expert with a lot of industry experience. She's currently a Senior Music Editor at Spotify in Mexico City. They picked her after a big international search because listeners found her voice relatable and friendly for music recommendations. At first, this feature will be for Premium users where DJ is already available. But Spotify plans to expand it to more countries in Latin America and Spain soon. This move shows Spotify’s commitment to using AI to make music streaming more personal and fun.
