Snapchat is enhancing its augmented reality (AR) gaming experience by introducing new tools in Lens Studio 5.10, aimed at empowering creators to develop interactive Bitmoji games
Key Features:
Turn-Based Gameplay: Developers can now create games that allow users to take turns, enabling back-and-forth interactions within the same game session.
Customizable Character Controller: This feature supports various gameplay perspectives, including third-person, first-person, side-scroller, and top-down views, offering flexibility in game design
Enhanced Leaderboards: New templates for start and end screens have been added, along with a hybrid view that displays both friends' and global scores. Additional metrics, such as "friends who have played," provide more social context.
Bitmoji Suite: Users can personalize their Bitmoji avatars by designing custom outfits, generating stylized props, and animating them using Snap’s library, adding a new layer of creativity to the gaming experience.
New Game Lenses: Snapchat has launched a collection of single-player and turn-based Bitmoji Game Lenses, including titles like Bitmoji Bistro, Bitmoji Buckets, and Beatmoji Blast, allowing users to play and challenge friends directly within the app.
In addition to these features, Snapchat has announced the Bitmojiverse Challenge, where developers can register for a chance to win cash prizes by utilizing the new Bitmoji Suite and game assets. These updates aim to foster a more engaging and personalized gaming environment on Snapchat, encouraging both developers and users to explore new creative possibilities within the platform.
