Google’s bringing Gemini to your car with Android Auto

That means next time you’re driving and need to reply to a message, find a playlist, or get directions to the nearest coffee shop, you won’t just be using voice commands, you’ll be talking to a generative AI that actually gets context, preferences, and nuance. Gemini is built to handle more complex interactions. And with the new Gemini Live feature, the assistant stays active in the background, ready to chime in when you need it, without having to keep saying “Hey Google.” It’s also multilingual, context-aware, and remembers what matters. For example, if you often message a friend in Spanish or prefer jazz during your morning commute, Gemini will pick up on those habits and adjust accordingly. Google says the update will hit Android Auto in the coming months, with support for over 40 languages. Right now, it processes requests via the cloud, but future updates could bring more on-device performance too.
