Bit-Size AI Update

Meta is reportedly building AI smart glasses with Prada, too

According to a new report, Meta is working on a fresh pair of AI-powered glasses designed in collaboration with the luxury fashion brand. This follows its earlier partnerships with Ray-Ban and the recently teased Oakley glasses, but the Prada move adds serious fashion credibility to it. The Prada glasses are still under wraps with no official release date, but they are already turning heads. While the Ray-Bans have been a hit with over 2 million units sold and Oakleys are expected to target athletes, the Prada edition looks set to attract people who care as much about style as they do about tech.

Why Prada? You may ask. For one, their statement-making frames are ideal for hiding all the tiny tech like sensors and cameras. But more importantly, it signals that Meta wants to make smart glasses something people actually want to wear, not just for function, but for fashion. The Oakley glasses, which could drop as early as this week, are rumored to cost around $360 and are built for more active use. Meanwhile, the Prada model is likely to lean heavily into aesthetics. Meta seems to be covering all its bases here, sporty users, everyday wearers, and now, the luxury crowd.

This shift is pretty telling. Smart glasses aren’t just tech experiments anymore. Meta is trying to make them mainstream, something as normal to wear as a smartwatch or wireless earbuds.
