WhatsApp Launches Long-Awaited iPad App,
After over 15 years of anticipation, WhatsApp has officially launched its native iPad app, fulfilling a long-standing request from users. Announced on Tuesday by Meta, the new app is now available for download on the App Store.
Key Features:
Group Calls: Make audio and video calls with up to 32 participants, utilizing both front and rear cameras.
Screen Sharing: Share your screen during calls, enhancing collaboration and presentations.
iPadOS Integration: Supports multitasking features like Stage Manager, Split View, and Slide Over, allowing seamless operation alongside other apps.
Accessory Compatibility: Works with Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil, enhancing productivity.
End-to-End Encryption: Ensures that personal messages, calls, and media remain secure across devices.
Previously, iPad users had to rely on the web version of WhatsApp through a browser. This dedicated app offers a more integrated and user-friendly experience, aligning with the functionality available on iPhones and Macs.
The release follows a subtle teaser from WhatsApp’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, which hinted at the launch with an eye emoji.
With this launch, WhatsApp continues to expand its ecosystem, providing users with a consistent and secure messaging experience across all Apple devices.
