Jensen Huang Says Nvidia Sees $1 Trillion in Chip Orders Through 2027
Jensen Huang opened Nvidia's annual GTC Conference in San Jose on Monday with the kind of number that makes investors sit up straight. Speaking during his keynote, the Nvidia CEO said he currently sees at least $1 trillion in orders for Nvidia's Blackwell and Vera Rubin chips through 2027. For context, just a year ago at the same event, that figure stood at $500 billion through 2026. It has doubled in twelve months.
The jump reflects just how fast demand for AI computing infrastructure is growing. Companies building large language models, running AI workloads, and expanding data centers are all competing for the same chips, and Nvidia remains the dominant supplier in that race.
The Vera Rubin architecture, which Nvidia began officially producing in January, is the next step up from Blackwell. The company says it runs 3.5 times faster than Blackwell on model training tasks and five times faster on inference tasks, reaching up to 50 petaflops. Nvidia plans to ramp up production in the second half of this year, and with $1 trillion in projected demand sitting on the table, there is no shortage of motivation to move quickly.
For anyone trying to understand why AI investment keeps accelerating despite economic uncertainty elsewhere, these numbers tell the story. The companies spending on AI infrastructure are not slowing down, and Nvidia, right now, is the company supplying the engine for almost all of it.
