Samsung Galaxy S24 Series
The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S24 series was launched on the 17th of January, offering a sneak peek into a world of incredible design and mind-blowing AI. Images from the launch unveiled the captivating aesthetics of the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra – a feast for tech enthusiasts! Hold onto your hats because it's not just about looks. AI aficionados, rejoice! Features like Note Assist and Live Translate are primed to revolutionize user experiences. The Galaxy S24 Ultra steals the show with an astonishing 200MP main camera, while the S24 and S24 Plus shine with their impressive 50MP cameras. The excitement extends beyond smartphones – CES 2024 showcased a lineup of AI-integrated wonders, including the endearing Ballie smart home robot and an innovative AI fridge from Samsung.
Google just unveiled an upgrade for Google Lens that adds a dash of AI magic to visual searches! Now, when you point your camera at something or upload a picture to Lens, you can ask questions about it and get answers - thanks to generative AI. It's like having a smart buddy right in your phone. This update stirs up the existing multisearch feature in Lens, so it's not just about finding similar images anymore. Imagine snapping a picture of a plant and asking, "When do I water this?"—instead of generic pics, Lens identifies the plant and tells you it's a bi-weekly watering type of plant. And guess what? This feature pairs up with Google's new Circle to Search gestures, making it all hands-free. Now, improving your search game just got a bit more fun! Give it a whirl through the Lens camera icon in your Google search app for iOS or Android.
Microsoft's Copilot – the AI powerhouse that's not just for big companies anymore! They rolled out a paid plan, Copilot Pro, priced at $20 per month per user. It elevates your Microsoft 365 experience with GenAI features across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote. It's like having a creative genius right in your apps! But that's not all – if you're a fan of Teams, the enterprise Copilot has your back, giving real-time summaries and tackling tasks like a pro. Also, for the budget-conscious, Microsoft's throwing in some freebies too – Copilot GPTs for fitness, travel, and cooking, and a handy mobile app for Android and iOS users. They're even expanding Copilot to support more languages soon. So, whether you're a business pro or a free user, Microsoft's got something exciting in store with Copilot.
Ed Newton-Rex, the ex-VP of Audio at Stability AI, dropped an interesting news – he's launched 'Fairly Trained,' a nonprofit for making sure generative AI companies play fair with their training data. It's like a watchdog for ethical AI. Now, here's the bestpart: they have kicked off with their first-ever certification, the 'Licensed Model (L) Certification.' Majorly, it is a stamp of approval for AI models that use their training data ethically. No shady business with copyrighted content here! To get the thumbs up, companies have to play by the rules – either get the approval from rights-holders, use an open license, have public domain data, or own the data themselves. Nine companies, including Beatoven.AI and BRIA AI, have already been certified. The program has gained support from industry experts, such as Dr. Yair Adato of BRIA AI and Christopher Horton, SVP at Universal. Transparency and responsible data usage take center stage as Fairly Trained pioneers ethical standards in the generative AI industry.
