Figure Robot Can Now Assist You Around The House

Figure humanoid robots now take voice commands to help around the house. This is something Figure has been working on for a while. They just unveiled their new humanoid robot, Figure 02, and this one isn’t just for show, it actually listens and responds to voice commands, with the help of OpenAI. What this development means is that you can now tell your robot to grab something for you, and it does—no complicated controls, just your voice. Figure 02 is designed to move around homes, standing at about 5’6” and weighing 60kg. It can carry up to 20kg, has a solid 7.5-hour battery life, and comes equipped with cameras and AI vision to understand its surroundings. Plus, its upgraded hands have 16 degrees of freedom, making it more dexterous than previous versions.This is still early-stage tech, but it’s a step closer to AI-powered robots becoming part of everyday life. OpenAI is bracing up for some big AI upgrades, and they are making things simpler for everyone. The CEO, Sam Altman recently just laid out the plan. First, we get GPT-4.5 (codenamed Orion) in the coming weeks, then GPT-5 a few months later. Right now, switching between AI models can be a bit of a hassle. OpenAI wants to change that by unifying everything into a system that just works—no need to figure out which model to use. When GPT-5 rolls out, all ChatGPT users will get access to a standard version, while paid users can unlock higher intelligence levels and extra tools like advanced voice capabilities. OpenAI is aiming to build a smarter, more intuitive AI that fits seamlessly into daily life.

Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, just dropped Grok-3, their latest chatbot, and they are making some big claims. According to Musk, Grok-3 is way more powerful than its predecessor, using over ten times the computing power. It is designed to compete with giants like OpenAI and DeepSeek, and early tests show it’s performing well in math, science, and coding. If you are on X (formerly Twitter) and have a Premium+ subscription, you can try Grok-3 now. xAI also launched a separate SuperGrok subscription for access through their mobile app and website. Grok has fewer restrictions on content, meaning users might get a different kind of AI experience compared to other models. Also, xAI introduced “Deep Search,” an AI-powered tool meant to make finding information online much faster.

Taking meeting notes during meetings just got better with the new Google meet AI-powered upgrade called “take notes for me”, and it does exactly what the name says. Instead of scrambling to jot things down during meetings, this AI automatically captures key points and action items for you. After the meeting, the notes are saved in a Google Doc and linked to the Calendar event, so everyone can access them later. Right now, it’s available for Google Workspace customers with specific add-ons, and it only works for meetings in English for now. If you are using Google Meet on a laptop or desktop, you should start seeing this feature soon—it’s rolling out gradually and will be fully available by September 10. Of course, AI isn’t perfect, so it’s always good to double-check the notes. But if this works as promised, it could save a lot of time.
