China has introduced the world's inaugural artificial intelligence (AI) hospital, "Agent Hospital," set to change global healthcare and potentially save millions of lives. This virtual facility hosts 14 AI doctors and four nurses, capable of attending to 10,000 patients in mere days, a feat that would take human doctors years. Before its debut, these AI physicians underwent rigorous testing, achieving an impressive 93.06% accuracy rate. Designed by AI experts from Tsinghua University, Beijing, the hospital aims to improve patient-doctor interactions, ensuring accessibility and expediency in healthcare procedures. It will begin full operation by 2024's end and will initially assist in medical education before extending its services to hospitals nationwide. Liu Yang, the project's lead, envisions the AI hospital's potential to predict and simulate medical scenarios, including future pandemics.

Jan Leike, safety research lead at OpenAI, recently joined rival AI startup Anthropic after resigning earlier this month. Leike, who co-led the super-alignment group at OpenAI, left days before the group was dissolved. He expressed excitement about Anthropic's mission, focusing on scalable oversight and AI alignment research. Anthropic, supported by Amazon with up to $4 billion in funding, aims to address concerns about the societal impact of powerful AI. Leike's departure reaffirms the growing importance of AI safety, especially since OpenAI's introduction of ChatGPT in 2022. In response to such concerns, OpenAI has established a safety and security committee led by senior executives.

Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, has seen his net worth skyrocket from $3 billion to $90 billion in just five years, securing his spot among the world’s top-20 wealthiest individuals. This surge is attributed to Huang’s ownership of approximately 86.76 million Nvidia shares. Although it is uncertain if he will splurge on more leather jackets, Nvidia, known for gaming graphics cards, is expanding into AI and other industries. Huang’s shrewd investment decisions during the pandemic paid off well. With Nvidia's shares surpassing $1,000 after strong earnings, his net worth might climb even higher, putting Nvidia in league with tech giants like Apple and Microsoft.
Elon Musk, speaking at Viva Technology 2024, predicts AI and robots will probably replace most human jobs, with an 80% chance of a benign outcome. In this future, governments might provide a universal high income rather than just a basic one. Jobs could become optional, with AI and robots catering to all needs. Although, he raises existential questions about the meaning of life when work is unnecessary. He suggests humans might find purpose in providing meaning to AI. Elon Musk Neuralink's project aims to enhance communication with future AI, ensuring alignment and mitigating risks. Although no timeline is offered, Elon believes letting robots take over jobs will ultimately benefit humanity.
