OpenAI's latest AI tool, Sora, has been making waves with its impressive video-generating capabilities. Although still in development, the CTO hints at a potential public release this year. Bloomberg reveals OpenAI's strategic move of showcasing Sora to Hollywood studios and directors, sparking discussions about the future of AI in film production. While some filmmakers like Tyler Perry embrace AI for its creative potential, others like Hayao Myazazi express concern and disapproval. The growing use of AI in commercial films raises debates about job security, artistic integrity, and copyright issues. OpenAI aims to collaborate with industry stakeholders for safe and phased implementation of AI advancements, setting the stage for ongoing dialogue and innovation in the entertainment industry. Question now is, does Sora pose a threat or opportunity for the Hollywood industry?
Again, known to be in the news occasionally - OpenAI is causing an uproar with its upcoming GPT-5, the next-gen large language model. They have been impressing prospects with unique features and capabilities tailored to different firms. Business Insider spilled the beans about a possible launch in the summer, but GPT-5 is still in the training phase and undergoing rigorous testing against hackers ("red-teaming"). Remember GPT-4's race problem before? Yeah, they're being extra careful this time around. Despite some grumblings about GPT-4's performance, OpenAI is confident that GPT-5's impressive features will silence the critics. Sam Altman hinted at a big release in a recent interview, but he is keeping the details to the minimum for now.

An announcement from Stability AI:

3:32 AM • Mar 23, 2024
Emad Mostaque, founder and CEO of Stability AI, has stepped down from his roles amidst controversies surrounding the company's image generation tool, Stable Diffusion. In response, Stability AI has appointed Shan Shan Wong and Christian Laforte as interim co-CEOs. Mostaque advocates for decentralized AI to challenge centralized models like Google's Gemini and OpenAI's GPT-3.5/4. He emphasizes the need for transparent and distributed governance in AI technology. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and other researchers also support the idea of sovereign and open-source AI. Mostaque's departure comes amid financial discussions and legal challenges at Stability AI, reflecting ongoing turbulence in the AI industry.
Should be available on 𝕏 next week.
Grok 2 should exceed current AI on all metrics. In training now.

Elon Musk's xAI is set to launch the upgraded Grok-1.5 chatbot on X, aiming to outperform current AI technology metrics. This move is part of xAI's competition with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google Bard in the generative AI chatbot arena. Grok-1.5 teases advanced reasoning and long-context understanding, enhancing user experiences on X. The introduction of Grok-1.5 is expected to transform social media platforms, making them more than just communication tools. Users can now rely on the AI chatbot for fact-checking and receiving articulated or witty responses based on their preferences. While Grok was previously available to premium subscribers only, xAI's expansion aims to challenge established AI models and provide innovative solutions for users.
